M. Keith Garrison is the Director of Alternative Assets for the Texas Christian University endowment, a position he has held since November 2007. He is responsible for directing the investment process for private equity, real estate, and other private market investments including policy/strategy development, due diligence underwriting, and portfolio management. Target allocation for Alternatives is currently 24% comprised as follows: Private Equity – 10.5%; Real Estate – 5.0%; Energy – 8.5%. Hedge Funds account for another 23%.
Mr. Garrison worked for TRS since September 1989 and served as a real estate asset manager, chief asset manager, Director of Real Estate and, at the time of his departure, Director of Private Markets. Prior experience includes lending positions with two commercial banks in the Austin area.
Mr. Garrison received a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin in 1980 and the Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management in 1998.
