James R. Hille was appointed the first Chief Investment Officer of Texas Christian University in May 2006. Formerly he was the Chief Investment Officer of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, a $100 billion public pension plan. From 1992 to 1995 he managed portfolios for the Employees Retirement System of Texas. From 1990-92 Mr. Hille worked as an assistant to the international portfolio manager at a large family office in Fort Worth while earning an MBA in Finance from TCU. With a BS in engineering from the US Naval Academy class of ’83, Mr. Hille served for six years as a Marine Corps officer. He has served as president of the Austin Society of Financial Analysts, and an adjunct finance professor for the University of Texas’ McCombs School of Business. Mr. Hille is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.
